RapidRun™ Honored With a CEA HomeTech
Mark of Excellence Award for Second Consecutive Year

RapidRun Digital™ Named 2007’s Best Structured Wiring Distribution Device
by a Panel of Independent Consumer Electronics Industry Experts

Dayton, Ohio, March 21, 2007 - Lastar, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high performance audio/video connectivity solutions, has been named a 2007 Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) HomeTech Mark of Excellence Award recipient. Lastar’s revolutionary RapidRun Digital™ system received the award in the category of Best Structured Wiring Distribution Device at an awards dinner on Friday, March 9 in Orlando, Florida, during the 8th annual Spring Electronic House Expo (EHX).

This marks the second consecutive year that Lastar has won the Structured Wiring Distribution Device category, claiming the 2006 award for the original RapidRun™ system. The category recognizes the whole house distribution product that supports multiple communication platforms as related to the cabling and infrastructure within today's digital home. Twisted Pair, RF, IP, and/or audio and video content are said to be enhanced by the visionary winner of this category. The winner is determined by a panel of independent consumer electronics industry experts.

"We are extremely honored to be recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association for a second consecutive year," stated Gregory Billhardt, Vice President of Marketing for Lastar. "Receiving this industry recognition, especially against such formidable competition, makes all of the time and effort we’ve devoted toward developing this product very rewarding. This Mark of Excellence Award completely validates what we have produced with our RapidRun product line, as well as the people in our organization who have made this revolutionary product a reality."

RapidRun Digital™ brings HDMI and DVI capabilities to the RapidRun™ product line. It is able to overcome normal length limitations of TMDS video signals by providing HDCP compatible DVI and HDMI signals more than 80ft from source to display. The system features the patent-pending RapidRun Digital Active Wall Plate™, the first HDMI/DVI wall plate solution with an integrated equalizer/extender, which corrects for attenuation and impedance so the signal can be transmitted over the Digital Runner™, the system’s base cable, as long as 65ft at 1080p resolution. Utilizing the 65ft Runner, an Active Wall Plate with a standard 2m HDMI or DVI cable, and a 10ft Flying Lead, the total end to end length is over 80 feet.
